Communication from Affinity Water
During November 2022, Affinity Water made the following announcement
“Unless we all act now, together, there’ll be a shortage of water in the future.
As we face climate change, population growth and an above-average use of water per person, we’ve made plans to invest in our network and bring in new sources of water. This means we can reduce the amount we take from our precious chalk aquifers underground and look after your local environment.
To make sure there’s enough water for everyone, we need your help too.
Our water levels are low after the hot & dry weather
We need much more to saturate and penetrate the ground during the winter for levels to rise. We’re working 24/7 to fix our leaks, but we also need your help to waste less water at home to make sure there’s enough for next year.”
Our comment....
As we enter December it’s officially the season of big coats, and the chances of a cold spell become greater.
We may have had rain over the last couple of months, but we’re still seeing the effects of the hot, dry summer we had this year and water levels are still low, so we all need to do what we can to save water this winter.
